Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American sportscaster. She is currently a sportscaster for ESPN who is also anchor for SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. The first time she worked for ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was bilingual since the age of nine years old, a valuable skill that helped her secure her first job working as an assistant to the producer at Univision in Miami which provided her with the opportunity to work with the producers of National programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then she was promoted to an reporter at the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. In 2009, she moved in Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Reporters covered issues related to illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking throughout Texas and Mexico. She also filled in for sports anchors and weather forecasters. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate, where she was able to take on more responsibilities. She created pieces for Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS as well as the World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason Finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. Also, she produced Univision 23's local sports channel Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She was appointed as the sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes for their morning show. In the same capacity, she worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) as well as Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports program). Antonietta's parents hail of Veracruz Mexico. In Mexico City she was conceived on November 22nd 1985. There is a sister. She is the older sister. The couple divorced shortly after in 1995. Her mother remarried one of the naval architects named Fabio Fajardo who died of kidney cancer in 2006. The time of summer when she was with her younger sister at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl was offered an employment. Antonietta was about to graduate from high school, however she knew her plans for what she would do. It was an amazing campus. They also offered her the degree she wanted. She graduated from school and was attended the university as a major in media studies. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her professor Mark Bergmann who was the supervisor at WRMU 91.1 FM, of which she was an affiliate. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to have self-confidence and was deeply touched by his passion for journalism.
